What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of consciousness whereby you experience focused attention, heightened suggestibility, and increased relaxation. It is very normal and we fall into hypnosis many times a day. For example, when driving a car, we cannot remember how we reached a certain destination, doing the washing up or not remembering at which point we stopped paying attention to the film we are watching! During hypnosis, you enter into a trance-like state in which your conscious mind is temporarily circumvented and your subconscious mind becomes more accessible.
Will I lose control when in hypnosis?
In a hypnotic state, you are more open to suggestion and can experience vivid sensations, emotions, and memories. Using techniques to support and guide you, hypnosis is used as a therapeutic technique to treat a variety of mental and physical health conditions, such as anxiety, phobias, addiction, pain management, and more. What will happen in a hypnotherapy session?
During a hypnotherapy session, a consultation will determine the client’s objective and what they want to achieve. The client is then guided into a state of deep relaxation and focused attention, known as a trance state or hypnosis. Trance is very normal as we drop into a hypnotic or trance state many times a day. For example, when we are doing the dishes, driving a car or watching television. Hypnotherapy uses various techniques to induce this trance state, such as asking the person to follow the sound of their voice. Once in a trance state, the subconscious is accessed and suggestions are made that are designed to help the person achieve a particular goal and make positive changes at a deep level.
How many sessions will I need and how often?
Hypnosis sessions may vary depending on your needs and the specific goals you wish to achieve. If it is a phobia being addressed, it can be achieved in 3 or 4 sessions. However if you are suffering with depression or severe anxiety, it may take 12 or more sessions to achieve the desired result. You can book single sessions or a block of 4 sessions at a time and this can be discussed during your consultation so that you are happy with the objective and treatment plan.
past life regression therapy FAQs
What is past life regression therapy?
Have you ever visited somewhere and felt like you have been there before or felt a strong connection? Past life regression may offer some answers.
Past life regression is a type of hypnotherapy that allows individuals to access memories from their past lives or incarnations. During the session, you are guided through a hypnosis state to help you access your subconscious mind.
Through this process, you may experience vivid memories, emotions, and sensations from a past life. These memories may offer insight into unresolved issues or emotional blocks that are affecting you in your present life. By exploring and processing these memories, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and potentially heal past traumas. Many clients who have undergone past life regression report experiencing profound personal insights and emotional healing as a result of the process.
What happens during a past life regression session?
An initial consultation will gather information about your intentions for the session and any concerns you may have. You will then be guided through a hypnosis where your subconscious may access experiences of past lives. Afterwards, you may need time to process the memories and emotions that come up during the regression and, if you wish, you will be guided through the relationship between your experience and your life now; if you feel like you have not explored your experience enough, a follow up session can be booked.
The length of a past life regression session can vary depending on your needs and generally, the whole process may take around 90 minutes. Please note that there is no need to complete a free consultation before engaging with the process (unlike general hypnotherapy) but if you attend and then feel that this is not for you, there is no obligation to continue.
Does hypnotherapy and past life regression work online?
Yes, very well!
Online hypnotherapy and past life regression sessions offer the same benefits as in-person sessions. In fact, clients have noted that they feel the benefits more due to the convenience of not spending time travelling to and from the practice and feeling more relaxed in their own environment. You need to ensure you have a private, quiet space where you will not be interrupted to ensure that you maximise the benefits of the session.
Please note that online hypnotherapy may not be suitable for everyone but we can determine beforehand if you would benefit more from an in-person session.
What is aromatherapy and how does it work?
Aromatherapy is a relaxing holistic treatment using essential oils as the healing medium. An aromatherapy massage includes gentle techniques of lymphatic drainage specifically designed to maximise the effects of the essential oils and detox the body.
Essential oils are extracts from plants that have powerful effects on the physical body and emotional mind. For example, just a quick inhale of rosemary can clear your head to help you focus or the sedative effects of ylang ylang can promote stress relief by reducing blood pressure.
What conditions can be helped with aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy can help:
- Remove toxins from the body
- Stimulate a sluggish lymphatic system
- Uplift low emotions
- Relieve inflammation from achy muscles
- Encourage analgesic effects for pain relief
- Produce a sedative result for insomnia
- Rebalance your hormones
Is aromatherapy safe for everyone? Children, pregnancy.
The blend of essential oils will be mixed specially for you after checking your scent preferences and the objective. Certain oils will be omitted if you are pregnant or trying to conceive or if you suffer with certain conditions. If working with children, the blend and strength can be adjusted accordingly. Otherwise, essential oil use is perfectly safe and a natural healing modality.
What is reflexology and how does it work?
Reflexology is an ancient Chinese holistic treatment whereby the whole body can be accessed through the feet. Pressure is used to stimulate the reflex points that mirror the body’s organs and systems and the specific techniques aid the unblocking of stagnant energy and stimulate a healing response.
If a client’s feet cannot be accessed or there may be pain in an area, the hands can be treated to stimulate the same reflex points.
What conditions can be helped with aromatherapy?
Reflexology can support many conditions such as:
- hormone imbalance
- localised pain
- aid fertility
- boost energy levels
- digestive disorders
- nervous system disorders
The effects are cumulative so a course of treatments is hugely beneficial to address a condition.
